Course Details:


Swim: 200 Yards/8 Laps (Sr. Youth 11-14) or 100 Yards/4 laps (Jr. Youth 7-10)


The Race will begin in the pool as a staggered start with 5 seconds between each competitor. The athletes will swim a total of 200 yards/8 laps for ages 11-14 (or 100 Yards/4 Laps for ages 7-10) in a snake swim. Passing is allowed. When finished athletes will step out of the pool and run to T1 on a carpeted surface.

Bike: 4 Miles (All Participants) – THIS IS AN OFF-ROAD COURSE!!! NO ROAD BIKES ALLOWED!!!!


Bike route is on Sunrise Camp Grounds and 100% closed to vehicle traffic to insure the safest rid conditions for our Youth. Course is OFF-ROAD and is fairly flat. Because the surface is packed dirt/gravel ONLY BMX and Mountain Bikes will be allowed. NO ROAD BIKES WILL BE PERMITTED. All Youth will make 3 loops.

Run: 1.2 Miles (All Participants)


After a thrilling bike ride, Triathletes will finish off their race with a run through the Camp. Again, for the safety of our Youth, the entire course is closed to vehicle traffic. Run is on and off road. Course does have some rolling hills. All Participants will make 1 full loop.


TRANSITION AREA: VIEW TRANSITION MAP Only participating Triathletes allowed in (Sorry No Parents). You must have your helmet buckled then run/walk your bike out of the Transition Area. NO RIDING IN TRANSITION AREA. You must rack your bike before going onto the run course. Transition Area will have strict security. No bikes will be allowed out without matching run/bike numbers.


All Races are $35. One Month prior to the Race day, price will increase to $50. No Same Day Race Registration will be available.

Race Time Schedule:

  • Transition Area Opens/Closes: 8:00am-9:00am
  • Packet Pick-Up: 8:00am- 9:00am
  • Pre-race Briefing: 9:05am
  • Race Starts: 9:25am
  • Race Ends: 10:45am
  • Festivities begin: 10:45am


Packet Pick-Up Details:

Packet Pick-up will take place the morning of the event beginning at 8 am and closing at 9 am. Please remember to bring your USAT Annual Youth Membership Card or you will be required to pay for a 1 day or annual membership at pick-up.

Your Packet will include the following:

  • Wave Number
  • Race Bibs & Numbers (Bib for front of Shirt, Bike Helmet Number, Bike Number)

Fundraising “KIDS-TRI-4-KIDS”

What makes our events special is that its not “just a race”, but also an opportunity to give back to our community. Though not required, every Participant is encouraged to Fundraise and help other children in desperate need. KIDS-TRI-4-KIDS!! Once you complete your registration you will be sent a personal fundraising website. It takes only a few minutes to get started. Once it is all set-up you can begin asking friends and family for donations. Every Dollar counts. All donations are Tax-Deductible. Fundraising is neither mandatory nor required to participate in any event.

USAT Triathlon

All events are sanctioned by the USA Triathlon. USAT Membership is required. Youth Membership is $15 and will be good for one year. Please register online before your first race, and bring evidence of your USAT member number to each race. USAT provides a “one-day” membership for $10.00 too! Annual memberships will cover you for both Clinics and Races for the entire year. One-Day memberships will need to be purchased for each individual race and clinic.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 7 years old and under 14 years old to participate. Children’s ages will be determined based on their age as of December  31st in the year of the event. So they may be in an older age group than the age they are on race day.


What to bring…the basics

  • Swim Goggles
  • Towel
  • Bike (no pegs or baskets permitted)
  • Helmet
  • Running Shoes
  • A great attitude and willingness to have fun and participate

Additionally the following rules apply:

  • USAT Membership is required for all participants
  • No electronic audible devices allowed on this course… or you will be disqualified.
  • Helmets are required, helmet strap must be fastened before taking bike from rack and remain fastened until after bike is replaced.
  • Provided swim caps must be worn throughout the swim.
  • On Bike stay to your extreme right unless passing.
  • Run number must be on front of body during entire run.
  • Run number must be on front of body during entire run.
  • Any unsportsmanlike behavior will result in immediate disqualification.


Strong Island Kids believes that every participant is a winner.  Though this is a race, we feel participation (not competition) should be encouraged and supported by both the Race Team and Parents. Everyone that crosses the finish line will receive a beautiful Finisher Medal.

Raffles and Special Awards for Best Sportsmanship, Top 3 Fund Raisers, and other categories will be announced.
